Patent Prosecution Part 1

This course accommodates students who want to pursue a career in patent law, as well as those who desire to engage in communication with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (“USPTO”). A technical background is not required for the course, but is required for the patent bar (which is what is required to formally engage in representation before the USPTO).  

The course contains seven main modules covering: 1) overview of the prosecution process; 2) claim amendments; 3) 35 USC 102 and continuation practice; 4) 35 USC 103 and allowance considerations; 5) 35 USC 112 and timing considerations; 6) 35 USC 101 and international considerations; and 7) other related topics.
